While you are here, we encourage you to take full advantage of Cape Ann. On the Island there are two towns: Gloucester and Rockport.
Downtown Gloucester has plenty of cute shops and several incredible restaurants, including: Tonno - a more expensive but definitely delicious Italian restaurant, Oak to Ember - classic American cuisine on the water, and Virgilio’s Bakery - adorable Italian deli right on Main Street. Rockport is less than a 20 minute drive from downtown Gloucester and is one of the most picturesque towns in the state. We recommend taking scenic Route 127 up the North Side of the Island for the best views of the Annisquam river and the Atlantic Ocean. Once in Rockport, you will find plenty of tiny boutique seaside shops and great views of the Atlantic. Just off the harbor, you will find America's most photographed building, Motif #1.
